Sana Chriss

Consumer Protection Attorney

Sana Chriss is a consumer protection attorney based in Georgia. She founded The Chriss Law Firm, LLC to give consumers access to the kind of sophisticated federal advocacy that was once available only to large institutions.

Federal Trade Commission

As an attorney with the Federal Trade Commission — including as Attorney-Advisor to an FTC Chairman — Sana worked on enforcement actions and policy matters involving credit reporting, debt collection, and unfair or deceptive practices. That experience gave her a thorough grounding in how the FCRA and FDCPA are written and interpreted.

National Credit Union Administration

As Director of Consumer Affairs at the National Credit Union Administration, Sana oversaw the agency's consumer disputes programs and worked directly on matters involving credit unions, member complaints, and federal consumer financial law. She brings that background to her work representing consumers in private practice.

Admissions

Sana is admitted to practice in the state of Georgia, the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Why I Do This Work

Consumer protection law exists because Congress recognized that individuals are at a fundamental disadvantage when dealing with large financial institutions and credit bureaus. The FCRA and FDCPA give consumers real, enforceable rights — including the right to have an attorney fight for them at no upfront cost. My goal is to make sure consumers know those rights exist and have someone in their corner who knows how to use them.
